![]() I plan to further test using a non-Xbox controller with an otherwise similar layout (Logitech Gamepad F310, a good "bargain/economy PC controller) for 3-4 player setups and also with other games.Įdit 2: You don't need to click XInput for Logitech controllers. Both controllers worked perfectly in 2 player mode. I then configured the layouts to my liking and then clicked Save. PJ64 apparently recognized both as Xbox 360 Controllers (360 & One controllers are the same except for the Xbox button). I launched PJ64 and went into Options > Configure Controller Plugin.įor Controllers 1 & 2 I went into each tab and clicked both "Plugged" and "XInput" boxes. THey are connected using a 7-port USB hub (got one at Walmart). I am using 2 wired controllers, an Xbox 360 and an Xbox One controller (both also work with Windows-I am running Win 10). You might want to go with the original stick style then.I just had the same problem when setting up the program for the first time, however I got this workaround to fix it, at least with Mario Kart 64: Works brilliantly except that for some inexplicable reason I can't smash on Smash Bros with it. I replaced one of mine with a Gamecube-style ball. For games like Smash Bros where most controllers are quick taps lock-to-lock it works fine but for FPS's like Goldeneye its a fucking useless shit show.Įdit: A better option might be this N64 to USB Adapter with a genuine N64 controller but I've never tried one to see how it works.Įdit 2: If you go with the adapter option but your original N64 pads have worn out sticks, you can replace them with aftermarket replacements. It does not have anywhere near an accurate response rate to a real N64 controller. This is a mild inconvience though because the control stick is damn near useless for any title that needs finess. The buttons are supremely stiff and have a far more aggressive click than real N64 controllers. The rest of it is a bit of a mess though. ![]() On the pro side, the controller shell is an exact replica of the N64's, it even has the rumblepak/memory card slot with a functional latch but nothing for the plugins to actually connect to, its looks like they re-used NOS N64 controller shells. There are some replica USB controllers out there.
